Why the Heck Not

This seems to be a reasonable solution to the option of do nothing.  If Congress does nothing in the next couple of weeks, we will have just allowed things to be worse in the long run, but that isn't really different than if they do something stupid.  Force the Democrats to accept Simpson-Bowles and own the result, vice allowing them to pin failed policy on the Republicans which they are lining up to do right now.  They have zero plans for compromise and they are going to paper the Republicans as out of touch and unyielding regardless of the outcome.

So pass Simpson-Bowles put them on the defensive if they can't pass it as well. The American people want change in the way Washington is run, while still getting the goodies, so show that we are willing to agree to Simpson-Bowles.  How are they going to argue that it isn't fair and that we didn't cut enough defense?  They can try, but at 21% spending and revenue it is going to be hard to say that things aren't fair.

Will it fix things? No, we are still going to crash and burn because we will never collect the 21% GDP in revenue and real spending will never be cut by the Democrats.  But they will have to explain to the people why the economy is crashing and burning with higher taxes and more government.  The burden will be all on them to show how taxing and spending is/was a good thing for the middle class.  They won and now they will own the train wreck if we allow them to conduct.  It seems crazy to advocate for failure, but that is all that is left to us at this time.

We tried and failed to use reason, now it is time to bring on the pain.  Welcome to the new America of socialism and chains.

Higher Taxes, What A Great Idea!

There are several economist that have a different take on the the Starve the Beast plan and there seems to be some validity in their point.  They say that it doesn't work because the negative feedback loop of high deficits isn't working.  Cutting revenues isn't working, it is only leading to greater deficits.  So what to do to fix the mess?  You allow taxes to rise and allow people to suffer the full weight of this bloated pig.

I believe in austerity to prosperity as a reason to shrink the government, but who is willingly going to give up the goodies the politicians have been passing out for years.  Especially true, if there is zero pain involved to running up a huge National Debt.  If you have a brain in your head, you know that you can't keep running up debt and not expect the economy to collapse.  So, you need fix the mess before that happens and starving the beast isn't working, so why not let Obama raise taxes and force the pain on the people that elected him.

Let's bring on the pain, lets raise the rates on everyone because we all know that just raising the rates on the top 2% isn't going to get the job done.  You need to go all in and add 3-5% for everyone and see what happens.  If that doesn't make them squeal then how about 5% more.  This sounds insane because it is because the much simpler solution is to cut spending, but that is never going to happen, so raise taxes through the roof.

I know this goes against my grain, but I am all in on higher and higher taxes to pay for the cost of this bloated beast.  It will cause the whole thing to pop like a pork filled balloon.  It will get people's attention when they are struggling more and more to keep up with Congress' spending.  The rich will survive, but it will be the middle class that will feel the real burden and the poor will be completely screwed.  ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!!

You voted this maniac back into office, so America stand the hell by.  I say tax and spend your way to prosperity because the rich will pay the way.  Just remember that the rich will soon be anyone making over $50K a year, so enjoy the crap sandwich your vote has brought on this country.

Here is another thought, it is going to be a race between high taxes and huge deficits to see which one implodes the economy first.  It is doom time and if you want to survive then I recommend that you payoff all your debt and if you can move to Central America, at least their you can live like a king on what will be left of your precious 401K and since they have already done the banana republic thing your saving should be safe.

The American Dream is on the ropes and Congress is going to raise taxes, so for the first time in my life I say raise the roof and let the pain come.  The idiots that elected all those spendthrift Congressmen and this socialist president need to feel Russian level of pain to pull their collective heads out of their butts.  Pain is a great teacher and school's in for America.

We survived the Great Depression, which will be seen as a cake walk after the next few years.  The rich will live comfortably with higher taxes because they have options for hiding the money, but if you are living paycheck to paycheck or government check to government check then live is going to be very very unpleasant.  As money is sucked away to pay more taxes at every level, prices rise, and people can't afford gas and food.

It is going to be ugly until we wake up to the fact that if you are able bodied you need to work and pay your own way.  Socialism does not work and continues to fail the world around, but it is so seductive with its maximum for minimal work.  I am hoping the strong American tradition of hard work makes a comeback and that people get really pissed off that they have to work to support those sucking the government tit and living better than they do.  There will come a time when life is so miserable that the people will finally wake up and through off the shackles of socialism and restore this country.  I only hope I live long enough to see it happen.

Where do 'We the People' Stand?

All right, the Elections are over & completed as it applies to ‘we the people’ and now the question becomes are we as a Nation any better off because of the choices we’ve collectively made? Have we managed to advance our country and improve our standing in our part of the country or the world? Are we going to improve in a direction that hardworking, honest, diligent people will have their lives improve on a daily basis? Have we reached the stage that we’re willing to answer the hard questions about how we self-govern?

History says that BHO will continue Rule by Decree as usual without restraint; Congress will do nothing to reverse those decrees (EO's) yet may attempt to give the American people the appearance that they are trying to rein in the madness. In the long run the American citizens will suffer maliciously at the hands of their chosen government for another several years. There is a belief that because this was the last election for BHO all the restraints are off. He speaks of revenge in his campaign against people who do not align with him. It is surprising that an elected official would choose to speak about some citizens in the country he was just re-elected to represent in that way. If memory serves, bullies act and speak that way … Do we really have to fear that the elected leader of our country intentionally wants to extract revenge on some citizens?

Recent history shows us a glaring fact … The United States of American is fractured along partisan ideological lines with diametrically opposed views. That outlook is accurate and difficult to dispute. Many people have taken their political identity and ideology to a level of belief rather than opinion. This entrenches those people’s thoughts and ideas into a much narrower path and reduces any potential for commonality. To seek a lowest common denominator in this vast sea of extreme polar positions becomes almost impossible. This appears to be much worse than a newly divorced couple trying to agree on anything, even if their lives depend on it. It seems that we, as a country, are unable to even agree on the color green which is a very true but very sad statement.

History tells us we can brace for more and higher unemployment, smaller Paychecks due to higher taxes, and the initial stages of hyperinflation due to the Federal Reserve’s unrestrained "Quantitative Easing". We The People will now begin to see what the consequences of our choices will produce when it comes to electing individuals who are supposed to "Represent" US, but make the conscious decision to decide to represent corporations and big government because they want to enrich and elevate themselves above the common man and turn a blind eye toward the people over whom they have been chosen to ‘RULE’ rather than represent, and vote according to the Constitution. We have only ourselves to blame for NOT properly vetting the Candidates and eschewing the political elites to rally behind an honest, forthright human being.

We all too often listened to the Lies and mistruths of the Media, who propagate the messages of those who direct them. There is NO Real Journalism that exists in this country any more, only Opinion and Propaganda, yet WE refuse to hold them accountable in any form or fashion. We, as a nation, have abrogated our responsibility to watch closely and review those individuals chosen to ‘serve the people.’ The standard for public service has ceased to exist. One can lie, cheat, steal, ignore, and abuse the very citizens you’re elected to represent just as long as you provide those citizens with the comfort they crave.

There are many among us who have gone the extra mile to bring salient facts and education to the masses. The Policies whose titles state one thing but the content carries an entirely different message. We appear to have forgotten that words mean something and most often retain a true definition throughout time. Our founding fathers spent an enormous amount of time ‘word-smithing’ the founding documents … The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Pledge of Allegiance. Why are there so many today willing to believe that those words, as written, have somehow evolved of changed meaning in a little over two hundred years? We were, and should be, a people of character. Stealing has always been stealing despite centuries of time. Have these words … “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union …” changed in how we see them?

Some in and amongst us have lost their will to be self-reliant and self-sufficient.  Some have made the decision to walk away from personal choices and freedom in order to embrace cradle to grave hand holding from a bureaucracy. Personal responsibility is almost as common as black and white movies. Rules that numerous generations grew up with have fallen by the wayside, dusty and unrepeated for years. Dependency is a growing social illness that appears to have no boundaries and governments so eager to propagate this illness, contain the masses, and garner additional power as a result. Our founding fathers had enough foresight to warn us about this foreboding consequence. Sadly, just like a pre-teen child, we’ve decided that we know better and shun any advice we may benefit from.  Many look to other nations around the world and believe that Lady Liberty and the United States should alter her over two-hundred year course to pursue a more common path, a more diverse path, a more worldly path …  We have been separated by dozens of generations to King George and we’ve chosen to forget hard lessons learned in the past. The current thinking seems to be that we have advanced far beyond anything expected or perceived and oppressive rule such as existed in the 1700’s could never happen now. If only that were accurate …..

We desperately need to return to self-sufficiency, as individuals and as a nation. We need to embrace our fortitude, courage, honor, values, character, morality, honesty, and standards that made our country a nation so long ago. One positive step in the right direction each day is a beginning. Will we falter – maybe – no one is perfect BUT where there is a will, there is a way. Many reflect on the founders and seek strength in their resilience and perseverance to stay the course. If they were capable of succeeding, we should be able to follow in those footsteps. Never forget that public service was ORIGINALLY to serve the people and was never meant to co-opt power and authority OVER the people. The political elites do not believe this, but the PEOPLE hold the ultimate authority over themselves and THAT has never been delegated away to a chosen few. American citizens have never been, are not now, and will never be political servants. Educate ourselves, educate our friends and family, and educate any willing person you run across.

Someone Else Calling for Third Party

Herman Cain Calls for Creation of Third Party

Herman Cain Calls for Creation of Third Party
Nov 7, 2012
By Todd Starnes
Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is calling for the creation of a third political party — saying it is clear to him that neither major political party is willing to address the nation’s economic problems.
“We need a third party to save this country,” Cain told American Family Radio host Bryan Fischer. “This country is in trouble and it is clear that neither party — is going to fix the problems we face.”
Cain agreed with Fischer’s assessment that conservatives are growing tired of being ignored by Republican party leadership — and that many believe the GOP no longer speaks for them.
Cain said it was troubling that Mitt Romney received fewer votes than John McCain did in 2008 — suggesting that many conservatives did not vote on Tuesday.
“I don’t believe the Republican Party has the ability to rebrand itself against the mainstream media machine that blatantly works to support this president and other liberals as well as the Democrats,” Cain told the radio host.
Cain said it would take money, leadership and at least 50 coalitions to create a viable third political party.
“You need one for every state because of the whacky rules state by state that they have that make it difficult for a third party to emerge,” he said.
He said the new party could be made up of not only disenfranchised Republicans — but also Democrats.
“There are just as many disgruntled Democrats would probably be a part of this movement as there are Republicans — who are sick of the political class,” Cain told American Family Radio. “Realistically, it is more viable today than it has ever been.”

The Day After

Well here we are sitting with a bunch of broken hopes and dreams for what might have been.  We rode the roller-coaster and in the end we didn't enjoy the outcome.  Was it any real surprise that Obama won a second term?  Did we have such high hopes that we didn't see this train wreck coming?  Are our dreams for a better tomorrow permanently dashed, with this more than likely outcome?

We can sit around and bemoan our fate and say how is it possible that the Joker won re-election.  The fact is Romney was very few people's first choice and the fact that he lost to a sitting president by so little is actually a miracle.  Does this mean we can sit around and do nothing because we lost?  No, because now is the time when almost 50 million Americans feel they have been screwed by the system.  These 50 million Americans are going to be angry and hurt, so we have to show them there is light at the end of this tunnel of darkness.

We need to show them that the Republican party is a joke and they couldn't even oust a piss poor president like the Joker. The next four years are an opportunity to drive a stake through the heart of progressives because the economy is only going to get worse under such collectivist leadership.  Businesses will only continue to ship jobs over seas.  Prices are only going to continue to rise.  Taxes are going to shoot up.  Misery is going to be the order of the day.

With all this depressing news ahead, what are we to do to keep our own sanity.  We have to show people that there is a different way.  We've had years of Republican rule, that resulted in financial ruin.  We've had years of Democrat rule that only made things far worse.  It is time for a new option.  We need a new fiscal conservative party that drives this country back from the cliff.  This new party is about restoring prosperity through government austerity, which will be a direct contrast to the Joker and his agenda of big brother government.

The one thing that can not happen is for this party to allow the fiscal conservative brand to be stolen by the social conservatives.  It is time to put the social cons in the corner and fix this country.  You are more than welcome to be a fiscal conservative, but leave your theocracy at the door.

We could have won the Senate if it weren't for dumbass comments on rape, who the hell thinks that rape is a gift from God and who are you to tell that victim they are a monster for making the toughest decision of their lives.  I don't believe in abortion, but that is a very personal choice.  For the heathen out there that doesn't have God in their heart, it might be the right choice for them.  If God wanted that baby born, he would have given it to different parents, He orders all things.

We should do everything in our power to fix the tragedy, but it should not be the only issue.  It should not stand in the way of fixing the greatest country on Earth.  We need to love our way back to greatness by showing people there is a better way than the government dole.  We need to show them that there is something more for them and there is reward for making adult choices.  The reward is not instantaneous, but it is there and even better than the government dole.

We have the internet and social media to show people that they don't have to rely on the old ways of doing things.  We can show them that facts about government austerity leading to prosperity.  We have to show them that depending on themselves is better than depending on the government.  It is going to be a rough couple of years until the next election, but it is an opportunity to get a message of hope out that there.

So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, dry your tears, and ready yourself for a bumpy ride.  This isn't the end, but just another opportunity to start a new.  People always need hope when things are at their worst, and things are going to be really bleak. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?  If it is worth having, then it is worth fight for.

Obama is Number One

That is on the list of worst Presidents of the United States, the only guy thanking him for his auspicious rise to the top is the former number one, Jimmy Carter. Shortages with talks of fair shares, while neither are subject to their misdeeds are the hallmarks of a President out of touch with America.  They both were swept into office after years of Republican stupidity and now hopefully Obama like his predecessor will be swept right back out.

The American people want to work and they want to feel good about themselves.  They don't want to be told that while losing their shirts, they aren't doing enough so the government needs everything else.  Most Americans like to think that they are middle class and above, which most are, and that a brighter future awaits them and their kids if they continue to work hard.  Carter & Obama both doused that hope with their cries for higher taxes and greater government involvement in our lives.  Reagan understood and restored the thought that there was hope in America and the American Dream is still alive and well.

Tuesday we have the opportunity to throw another failed president on the trash heap of history.  We have the opportunity to reinvigorate the American Dream and to put our fiscal house in order.  It will require sacrifice of each and every American, but this country is worth it and so are our kids.  We need to cut the government to the bone and put an end to government PEZ dispenser. We need to take care of those that truly need it and allow those who can to take care of themselves.  We all need to pull our own weight no matter how considerable that may be.

One more for the trash heap and one giant leap for the American Dream.

Don't Get Out the Vote

Very good take on why anyone voting should be informed and not just some moron that can make it to the booth.  Keep turnout out small and see real change in government.  Having to actually represent the people that pay taxes and work hard to make this country great.  The moron vote is leading this country to ruin, with their high school popularity contests of who promises to give us more.

We need to grow up and take voting seriously, do your damn homework and make a serious effort to know what you are voting for in this election.  Arizona does a very good job of informing the voters on each box on the ballot, so people can make informed decisions if they want to.  It took my wife and I about 2.5 hours to fill in our ballot last weekend.  Even then we could have spent more time searching for information on some of the candidates, but we felt that if they weren't accessible then they really didn't need to be in office.

I encourage everyone to vote, but only do so once you are informed and know what you are voting for otherwise sit on your sofa and what the returns.  Let the people who do their homework take care of things, just like back in high school.

Being Wrong

I don't mind being wrong about Romney for the right reasons.  I don't like that he isn't a strong fiscal conservative, but I would love to be proven wrong on this topic when he is President.  I have never truly liked or supported Mitt Romney because I didn't think he could be trusted to shrink government spending and restore fiscal sanity.  His choice of running mate was a bold one and could have been a huge disaster, but he willingly took a shot on fiscal reformer.  Say what you want about the Ryan Plan not doing enough, but at least he has a plan.

I want President Romney to prove me wrong about him not being able to turn this country around and fix the mess in Washington.  I said it only yesterday that we Americans can take our medicine to fix this mess, if we see positive results.  Look at Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Ohio, see what good leadership is doing to counter the Democrats steaming pile.  I do hope that three years from now our nation has come to fiscal sanity and the swamp has been drained.

I want to be wrong about needing a third party, but on this one I still believe a new party will rise out of the Angry Middle because it is time for serious change.  I want to be proven wrong that Congress has the stones to fix spending and the National Debt.  That they are willing not only to touch third rails, but rip them up and start a fresh.  I don't think President Romney is going to be able fix this mess alone, so Congress needs to get serious about fixing our debt mess and our wasteful spending.  They are going to have to put an end to empty promises and actually make cuts.

Each election year is an opportunity for change and this maybe one of the biggest in this country's history.  As we look back on Jimmy Carter, we see a failed Presidency with burnout hulks of what could have been.  Reagan restored this country and made it work again. Bush & Clinton years were partisan volleyball, which each gaining power only to blow it with crony payoffs and looking the other way.  With Obama the cycle has started again.  I want to be proven wrong and lets hope Romney leads this country back from the brink like Reagan did.  He isn't Reagan, but he is smart and talented, plus his name starts with R, which is a start.

Update - I just read an article by Mr. Charles Krauthammer that sees Romney/Ryan hopefully turning the country back to Reagan after this brief period of hyper-liberialism.  So apparently I am not the only one that hope to be proven wrong about Romney and sees a Reagan like opportunity in the next couple of years.

An Example

How is it that we allow ourselves to be so fooled by politicians into thinking that we are nothing special as a nation and that we would all be better off if we were more like our brethren across the pond.  I guess if you like sitting around collecting the dole and never having a job, it might be a wonderful proposition..

I think it sucks!  I like working hard and getting ahead.  I like not being limited by class or anything else.  I have voted to remove Obama from office and for a capitalist.  I voted against collectivism and spreading the wealth around.  I wish I would have had less of a statist to vote for, but it was a little too close for my taste to risk not removing Obama.

I hope the rest of America sees that this country is great and it works.  We need to restore the swagger and backbone to this country.  We aren't afraid of heavy lifting and we are willing to take our medicine, if we see the positive results.  There are a lot of selfish pricks out there that don't give a rat's ass about this country's future or the next generation, but I believe that there are far more people that love their kids and are willing to do what it takes to secure their future.  I think there are still plenty of us who would do without to not see our kids and grand kids enslaved to the state.

Over this weekend, take some time to talk to others about why you are voting for freedom and opportunity.  You might be surprised to find you are in good company because there are a lot of us out there who just want more out of our government than we are currently getting.  Change starts with each of us and a spark is all it takes to get a roaring fire going.  2010 we flipped Congress on its head, so now it is time to take the Senate and White House.  If we fail in either, we will rally the troops and take the Senate in 2014 and the White House in 2016.

Don't be discouraged by the lies you hear coming from the media, they are only trying to sell ad time and the worst and more explosive they make things the more ads they sell.  Rely on your own judgement about what you know to be right and what works for you and your family.  Relying on the government or relying in yourself?  Seems to be a simple choice, but it can be scary if you have never done it.

I am sorry for being silent for so long, but I have a new job in a new state and things have been very crazy for the last couple of months.  I love elections and politics, but I hate what is happening to our country.  I want more out of our representatives and our President than a part-timer/semi-retired/golf playing empty suit.  I want someone that is going to sacrifice for this country and is going to lead by example.  Say what you want about Bush, but he was there working and not out playing golf.  He decompressed working on the ranch, not globe hopping to exotic locals on the taxpayer dime.

I hope to write more and I hope there is good news come Wednesday morning that the fiscal conservatives have taken the Senate and House. I will have to settle for a capitalist compromiser in the White House, but that is better than a socialist radical so the change is to the good.

Get out and vote, don't care if you don't like all the choices just make one.  Do your duty as a citizen of the most powerful nation on Earth and know you are voting for all those who can't.  Your vote could me life or death for them and preventing your kids a lifetime of enslavement to the state.
