The 4th of July

I am excited about this upcoming 4th for a number of reasons and none that have to do with fireworks (or at least I hope there will be no fireworks). This country is reaching a critical mass with our disappointment of our elected officials from both sides of the aisle. With each passing week the Congress steals our freedoms and abuses the public trust. I was truly saddened to see the global warming contingent win in the House, this is incredible considering that they had to switch to climate change because global warming held no water. So, we will probably end up with Cap and Trade, which will raise the prices on everything we need to live. If that wasn't enough amnesty keeps chugging right along and once again we will reward the criminals for their hard work of breaking this country's laws. This is the sad state of affairs of this country.

With that said, I do see a light on the horizon and that enough average taxpayers are getting sick and tired of having their hard earned dollars flushed down the federal spending toilet and rewarding those that don't with the same as those who do. America was not built on level outcomes, it was built on a level starting point. We used to be the land of opportunity where hard work and brains could propel you to a better life. That dream has been sold down the river by the progressives in Washington, so much so that now if you do succeed you are a criminal and need to be taxed unfairly for that success. This isn't right and leads to a society that does not aspire to greatness, but does the absolute minimum. I have seen this mentality before on certain ships that I served on, you can always beat people into an average. But true success came from the ability to inspire greatness. Those boats that had great leadership went above and beyond what was required with outstanding results. This country used to strive for greatness, but now we are being beaten to average.

I say enough and there are many that agree with me, finally. The American dream has been sold to corporate and union interests for far too long, so now is the time We the People need to stand up and say enough. This 4th of July I will be in Washington with my wife supporting the March for Liberty, to put an end to the craziness that is going on in Washington. Are you happy that the American dream? Is doing just enough to keep the government off your back or worse receive a government handout what you grow up striving for? That was not the way I was raised or the way I raised my children, I still believe in hard work, honest day's work for an honest day's pay, and that you can achieve just about anything you can dream, because this is America. This is what I want to pass on to my children and grand children, so I am not going to sit back and let the American dream die at the hands of a socialist elitist that think they know what is best for the rest of us. I say put an end to the progressive era in Washington and restore our Constitutional roots. I will decided what is best for me and my family and you should do the same.

God Bless America and long live the American Dream.
