The Bill itself from Harry Reid’s website, pdf 2,000+ pages
The Manager’s amendment from Harry Reid’s site, pdf 380+ pages
The Far Left is screaming that it doesn’t do anything and is “Purely Political”.
The dollars it will cost are going to astronomical. The cost is immediate; the benefits don’t even start until 2014.
The transparency that was promised became Harry Reid’s Closed Office Doors. No one has read it before voting on it.
Hundreds in millions of dollars & perks have been promised as “Bribes” for key votes.
They tallied the votes at 1:00 in the morning to hide what was going on.
Blago’s Man (Roland Burris the guy that got to the Senate by buying his Seat from the Crooked Governor, alleged) is taking credit for making sure ACORN is involved! Seriously, in Chicago that must be a good thing! Burris made sure ACORN was going to be in line for more millions (maybe they need the money to hold more,”How to be a Pimp” seminars?).
Polls show almost 80% of Americans were happy with what they had.
As late as yesterday, 54% doing nothing would be much better!
There are alternatives as simple as a one page bill that changes the main problems into no problems; here is the one page bill: One Page Bill!
The Admin. & its spokespersons have again resorted to name calling (not of the other elected officials, but anyone that disagrees); “You support Slavery if you support waiting to read the bill…” Harry Reid. Others have said if you don’t support this you’re a murderer. Last I saw any that disagree were being called “Lunatics”, this on the floor of Congress!
Many scholars I know are touting the 10th Amendment, and saying it’s a “Nullification situation”… Meaning the States should simply say, “Pass what you want, you have no right to do so, and in our State it doesn’t count!”…
All this from the man that promised bipartisanship & transparency. In my opinion he lied, over and over again.
There are two wars being waged. Troops all over the globe in harm’s way. The Country is in the worst economic crisis ever. All the President keeps saying is “This Can’t wait!” I believe he is saying it because of the election timing and the fact that the longer he is in office the lower he slides in the polls & popularity.
The latest is even more frightening! Language has been added to the bill that supposedly says (although nobody has ever seen a statement like it before in legislation so it’s hard to tell if it has any legal authority at all) that once this is passed it cannot be overturned!
This is wrong in so many ways… That’s my opinion, what’s yours?
What I see, is the BHO administration pushing, threatening and bribing to get through Health Care Reform (which doesn’t reform) and Cap & Trade (which only Caps and destroys plus taxes)

This is another example of how things should be done and can be done on health care, but this is not what we in America are going to get. Instead of Health Savings Accounts, we will get pork barrel spending on steriods and higher taxes and higher costs because the bill does zero to address higher costs for the average individual, while raising lots of taxes to payoff all the Christmas treats.

I am so pissed that people truly belief it is the military's fault that we are in Iraq and Afghanistan, when it is their elected representatives that sent them their at our request. Whether one war is better than the other is debatable or if we should still be in either country is debatable, but what is not debatable is whether it is the soldier's fault. If we screwed up our exit strategy that is the generals and politicians fault, not the grunt on the ground. If we should raise troop levels is up to the generals and politicians and ultimately the President. What we don't need is @$$#oles running around blaming the soldiers like they did in Vietnam. Those guys had less of a choice since they were drafted, but that is a whole different issue. I think this country should take a long hard look at who we are and what we stand for this rough Christmas season.
As you think about how much you are going to spend on gifts and that big feast of a meal with family and friends, just remember those that serve in your name in countries far from their families and hoping that the mail bag has something for them. You can say what you want about the politics of the matter, but always remember and honor those that serve in your name. They are wondering if they will have enough money to buy gifts for their kids and whether that will make up for the fact they haven't seen Daddy in almost six months. Some families only Christmas wish is Daddy or Junior doesn't get blown up for Christmas or that they won't be attending a funeral in the New Year. Those are the realities that these families face this Christmas, so if you get the chance do something nice for a military family or soldier this Christmas.

We have to put an end to pet projects that we fund out of an overdrawn checking account. We need to pay real bills and not build bridges to nowhere. We have to put and end to the wheeling and dealing with money they don't have. I am okay with pet projects once you have a budget surplus, no national debt and even then only if they are in line with the Constitution, but doing it with borrowed money is insane. When are the people going to stand up and say enough. Wasn't it bad enough when the "vote whore" from LA bragged about stealing an additional $200 million when it was being reported that she sold her vote for only $100 million. We know you are a vote whore, but good to see that you didn't sell yourself for only $100 million, you got the American Tax Payer for $300 million. The sad thing is that a couple of 100 millions really doesn't make a huge difference when you are trillions in debt already.
We need to put an end to this uncontrolled spending and start regaining control of Washington. I know there are a lot of very mad voters out there and Independents now out number both parties. We need to use this new power to force the parties to give us what we want and that is a balanced budget that includes a real plan for deficit reduction. We need to get America out of debt and put our people back to work. That isn't going to happen by spending our way out, but through retiring the national debt and sound fiscal policy going forward. You want to restore good paying jobs then get rid of the national debt and the deficit spending because if you do those two things then you can lower all taxes and businesses will return to America. Americans buy stuff and like to do stuff, so if you have businesses that can locate here to sell their stuff then they will hire people to build stuff. Sure American workers cost more, but if you can sell your stuff without having to ship it around the world then you might pay more in labor if you aren't putting it into shipping and high taxes.
I have been saying this for some time now that we need to declare our independence from the two parties and vote for people that represent what we want from our government. I don't care what party they came from or what initial is behind their name because we need fiscal conservatives that understand reigning in the out of control spending. I will vote for the person that understands that everything else in America depends on that one thing. I am willing to limit my personal held beliefs to save this country now and get people working again because if we don't then it won't matter about the other things. I am all for a big tent of fiscal conservatism (hereto know as frugal) that forces social issues to the back burner until we get the country back on a solid foundation. I know I will take a blast of crap because I am not forcing every frugal American to be a far right social conservative, but you know what, I don't care. If we continue to push people away that can help save this country then there will be no country or we will get Euro style of government where you far right social conservatives are enemies of the state.
I want to hear what you have to say on the matter. Come together my growing Independents and show your frugal muscles.

Afghanistan is no going to be so easy because the only true money making venture in that country is the poppy production in the western farmland. This is something that America can not allow, so there will be no awakening like in Iraq. Sure the average person doesn't want to grow poppies, but there is little other choice. The warlords ensure that with their guns and money. America is very unlikely to strike a deal with the drug dealers to allow them to continue to produce bumper crop after bumper crop in exchange for fighting the Taliban. This leads us to the problem of an exit strategy. How long do we hang around and support a corrupt government in Kabul, while the rest of the country is following the drug lords and their money. This seems to be a no win situation for the US.
My solution to this problem is what is going to happen regardless of when we leave or if we leave. We need to work with Afghanistan's neighbor Pakistan to secure their country and have it be a base for anti-Taliban fighters. America is going to be seen as an occupying force in most of Afghanistan because we oppose the growing of poppies and we are propping up a very corrupt government in Kabul. This is not going to do anything more than get our young men and women killed. We need to keep some reaction forces on the ground to take out high value targets as they arise, but we cannot and should not keep forcing our will on the people. Everyone in the world should have the right to their own form of government and if it doesn't result in killing innocent people in other countries then good on them. It they decided that it is time to spread their hate and death around the globe then we get to bomb the living crap out of them.
We must stop playing policeman to the world. We defeated the Taliban and helped Afghanistan have free elections once, but now we are just supporting a very corrupt government. We build roads and schools that everyone says we must, but it makes very little difference when there is no economy in that country and we firmly oppose the only one that has worked for thousands of years. Until we figure out a way for the drug lords to make the same money some other way, we are not going to succeed in Afghanistan. So whenever the day comes when we finally say enough is enough and pull back to Pakistan, the government in Kabul will either fall or turn into a dictatorship. There is very little option and the people will decide which they prefer. They didn't like the Taliban, but it reduced the poppy production and the country ran. Their mistake was thinking that they could strike America and we would roll over and die.
There is no easy solution to this mess and I am not saying cut and run, but we must start working with their neighbors to ensure that they are contained and that the Taliban can not export terrorist any longer. We need the people to government themselves and abide by the rules of a civilized world and failure to do so results in lots of bombs falling on your head. We must stop thinking that the American way is going to work everywhere. We can lead nations to free elections and the democratic process, but that isn't any guarantee that it will take hold. It didn't always take hold here in America either. We were just lucky that we had room to expand, so people could find new areas to live in if things weren't going the way they wanted them too.
Changing the world is a very difficult task and it would be nice if everyone could live in freedom and have justice, but that takes work and blood. We have to stop shedding ours to give them theirs because they have to work it out for themselves. We should support freedom fighters, but not occupy countries. We need to let the people decided what is best for them just like we did. We fought a civil war will thousands upon thousands of our citizens slaughtering each other, so that maybe the result in some of these countries. We think that because it is the 21st century that everything can be accomplished with words and money, but that isn't always the case sometimes there are wars and people die for their freedom.
I love America and I think there is hope for the rest of the world if they can follow our lead, but we can not force it at the end of a gun barrel. We must contain stupidity and terror, but if a country wants to have a religious based government then that is their choice and they can live and die with their choice. If they decided to export their stupidity then we have every right to kill them and their supporters. We were right to whack Afghanistan slick and hit the government reset button, but we should have left years ago. We have did the same in Iraq and now we are leaving. The question there is how long before they drop into civil war because hard as we try that is one of the possible outcomes like it or not. They can choose not to, but they can also choose to kill each other by the truckload. It will be their choice and they will have to live or die with the results. We cannot prevent every bad thing from happening, but what we can do is clean our own house and set a good example of leadership and governance.
It is unlikely that we will every stop radical Islam because its stated goal is to have everyone in the world be Muslim or dead. Since we are unlikely to become Muslim then it will be a war of attrition in which we either contain them or the killing on both sides continues. This will be the next War and much like the last this one will be two opposing global ideologies, but that is another post all together. We need to let the Afghanistan people decide what they want and let them live with the consequences.

To be honest I think most of what comes out of the career politicians mouths is self-serving and should be immediately ignored. He is a great example of self-serving, WV Republican shows up at a TARP road construction site to praise the work, but the funny thing is that she voted against TARP and has done her level best to talk it down as wasteful spending. This only goes to show the level of hypocrisy that the congressional critter is capable of to gain votes. The good news is that people in the area are calling her on it, but it is probably for party gain then any real outrage.
Back to Obamacheerweek, how is it that this supposed news magazine is any better then the Fox News organization and its conservative cheering? Fox at least does try to show both sides sometimes, but Obamacheerweek has no such pretenses such as showing the most popular female in America politics in her running outfit or un-doctored pictures on its cover. If you aren't going to doctor pictures then fine, but if you normally doctor pictures to make your covers look good then stick to it regardless of who is on the cover. Gov. Palin looked nice on the cover in her running clothes, but the point is that she should be put in that situation because Obama never would have been treated in such a way.
We need to start naming names and calling out those that hide in the MSM and pump the air full of BS in hopes of maintain their puppets in power. We need to strip away the crap and start looking at facts, such as Cash for Clunkers which cost the taxpayers $50K for each car sold or the federal health care bill that costs $30K per newly insured individual or TARP where $700B could have saved millions of homes from foreclosure. This is our government spending our children and grand children into slavery to the national debt, while buying votes with our own money.
We need to repeat it often and everywhere because we are going it alone against the MSM machine that is grinding the truth under its wheels. When was the last time the MSM did any actual journalism? When have they done a true expose on a Democrat? I am all for exposing every criminal in Washington, but it is pretty one sided in the MSM. Craig gets roasted for a couple of weeks, but you have to dig for information on Rangle. Fellow warriors, we need to unite and force the truth to come out. We need to light up the blogs and start pumping out the truth.
I love this country and cannot believe that we have allowed the media such a free pass to poison the minds of the weak and addled for so long. We need to put a stop to the madness and take back the airwaves. Blogs maybe the only thing we will have left by 2012 if we don't start pushing back now. Fight to restore truth, justice and the American way.
God Bless America and American Dream.

1. The Constitution
2. The Rule of Law
3. Mostly free elections
4. The strongest and best equipped military in the world
5. Freedom of Religion
6. Free Speech
7. Free for most government land grabs
8. High standard of living, if you have seen the dirt farmers of Iraq, Afghanistan, or Somalia you would understand how even the poorest American is a king next to the average people of these failed states.
9. I hate to admit this, but a functioning government
10. Low unemployment rate, 10 to 17% isn't bad when you consider there are places with 40+%
I know we think we have it bad, but I can tell you that we really don't when you look around to our neighbors around the world or even in our own backyard (Mexico). Lets hear what you think this country should be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

The shorthand: run on economic policy, downplay divisive cultural issues, present an upbeat tone, target independent voters and focus on Democratic-controlled Washington—all without attacking President Barack Obama personally.
It’s an approach that elected Bob McDonnell to the Virginia governorship earlier this month.
Jonathan Martin is a senior political writer at Politico
I have said this several times on the various 912 websites and was repeatedly battered, I feel that any candidate regardless of party that sticks to economic issues, minimizes the social issues, and is upbeat is well on their way to elected office in every election in the foreseeable future. The American public is downright scared about our financial future and things like gay marriage are red herrings when you are facing losing your job or deciding between food or gas. Our elected officials must wake up and start working on what is truly important to the average American, jobs.
If we get Americans working again, then federal revenues will go up and we could use that money to pay down the national debt. We have to freeze all government spending at 2008 levels and with no additional spending programs. We must also freeze all tax changes at 2008 levels and then figure out what we actually have and budget accordingly. We must budget so that there is zero deficit spending and an actual budget line item to pay down the national debt.
This is a formula for pulling America out of this death spiral of deficit spending and higher taxes. If we support candidates regardless of previous party affiliation support this type of economic plan then we could actually make a true difference for this country. If we just throw our vote to the nearest Republican then we will only get more of the same. You decide if this makes sense and is an idea you can support. If it is then lets spread the word and find candidates that support it as well. If there are holes lets hear it.
If you examine and follow the Constitution, you find the founders of our great nation decided to leave all the ’social issues’ for the people to decide — leave the Government out of that process, in the same manor that they approached religion. The Constitution is designed to protect the people FROM government, it does not grant the government power OVER the people. There is no fine print that permits government interference or intrusion for any reason. We do not have a monarchy or dictatorship for that very reason. We need to search for a way to separate our belief that social issues have a place in the government process and stick to the basics of what our government was created for.
“Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals — it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government — it is not a charter FOR government power, but a charter of the citizen’s protection AGAINST the government.” — Ayn Rand
A constitution is the very definition of our government here in the United States. It defines our LEGITIMATE form of government. It set up a Senate, a House of Representatives (collectively referred to as Congress), the President, and a Court. Without this document, all that does not exist. That is why they pay ‘lip service’ to the constitution today. It also sets the rules for the conduct of these branches of government. In this case, specific duties and parameters for those occupying the offices are defined in very concise terms. This is the part our elected elitist are very unhappy about.
Remember this statement:
“When the government fears the people, you have liberty. When the people fear the government [or the IRS, for that matter], you have Tyranny.”
(Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence of the United States)
So if we leave the social issues out of the equation and stick to the basics, we may find the ability to slowly bring this runaway government back to it’s original intent in a peaceful, non-violent process.

They are already paying off the good Senator from LA, which $100 million of our hard earned tax dollars. They are lining up to use the nuclear option if they can't make it any other way. The bill is so huge no one has read the thing, but they will vote for it if the price is right. The Republicans can't mount a serious counter proposal because they are completely clueless and probably agree with the Democrats, but can't say so or else lose their seat in Congress.
We need realistic solutions and someone willing to be the front man for them. I am willing to give Medical Savings Accounts a try because they wouldn't add to the national debt and work in certain places. How about the ability to sell health insurance across state lines? How about tort reform of any kind> It would hold down costs for the consumer, since all that money comes from us anyway between high cost due to malpractice insurance and lawyer fees. How about we use MSA to shop for better or cheaper health care costs? Why do insurance companies get to decide what we pay for a procedure, when competition says that you do it better than you get the business. It has worked for years with non-covered doctors (plastics).
I don't care who the champion of the people is as long as they show up soon. If its Gov. Palin great, if it is Dr. Detroit fine, but they need to get on the ball and get some real alternatives out there. We need to build a buzz for positive alternatives before the Democrats buy their way to an American Bankruptcy.
If you got ideas or know who is the people's champion, lets hear it and get the buzz going. The blogs are supposed to be the wave of the future, but they haven't been able to put a stop to the MSM yet with all its cheerleading for Congress. We need a hero of the people, any volunteers?

I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate what you are trying to do for this country, but I wanted to give you some advice as a voter. I have supported you and have also withdrawn that support for the same reason. You are a touchstone of bad media and you seems to let them drive you off message. Was the photo on the cover of Newsweek sexists? Sure, but so what it doesn't change who you are or what you believe in and whining about it only makes you look petty. The tweet was short and to the point, but should have included more about your substance and what you stand for because Newsweek provided you with an immediate audience wanting to stand with you against the liberal media. You gave them nothing, so another wasted opportunity.
I am no expert, but I am an American and I do vote. The up coming elections (all of them) are going to be determined by what candidate the people believe has truly better idea about how to run our out of control government. Gov. Palin, you must provide the voters with fresh new ideas that make sense to the average American. We know that this country has lots of problems and we want some real solutions even if they are painful. We need to cut spending on everything, we need to do something about health care (which does not include government control because we know that won't help), we need to do something about the exploding national debt, we need to do something about illegal immigration and we need to do something about the wars we are currently in. These are pretty heady subjects, but the voters want and deserve answers to each and every one of them.
You want to be President or maker of Presidents then you must be able to clearly answer each one of these with solid realistic answers that ring true with the public. We have seen what Hope and Change (lies and more lies) has brought us and we know deep inside that the solutions are not pretty and they are going to hurt, but if we know that the people that represent us understand and also feel our pain, we will support them. We absolutely hate government waste and the fact the $100 billion dollars was wasted last year is a great place to start. We should name names and cut off a few heads to show that kind of criminal activity will not be tolerated with our tax dollars. The voters want to know that you value their money as much as they do and do not want to waste a single penny.
Lets take a few of the items the voters care about one at a time.
- Out of control government spending that is running up massive unpayable debt, we need to enact that spending freeze and audit every penny the government spends. Think of the movie Dave and how the government spending made no sense to the average American. A simplistic was to look at to be sure, but the public is grabbing the pitchforks and torches over government's wasteful spending, so you better be ready with an answer.
- Health care needs a real solution that doesn't involve a government take over because the government can't run a lemonade stand let alone one sixth of our economy. Stop with the sensational "death panels" and start providing solid answers, such as Medical Savings Plans, tort reform, allow insurance companies to offer national policies. You need to be well versed in why these will work and how it puts money back into the pockets of voters. The Democrats have successfully blown this one and now is the time to win the high ground by showing how you will actually reduce our health care costs through these measures.
- You must have a plan to pay down the national debt, but it must be limited and Congress can't screw it up. I have advocated a national sales tax that is limited in time and Congress can not alter the rate or duration or where the money goes. It could be part of an amendment to that includes balanced budget, national debt reduction and an end to income tax. For now a viable, limited and attainable plan is reasonable, this must be part of a comprehensive plan which includes spending freeze, balanced budgets, and tax freeze. We must be able to understand what our revenues are and where our money is going before we add any additional spending or monkey with taxes.
On the subject of illegal immigration this is easy, seal the borders and identify who is here illegally and do something about it. Americans are all for legal immigration, but we hate cheaters and law breakers that do not contribute. There are very few good ways to fix this problem, but there are things that must be done. We must stop in the in flow of illegals. We have the tools just not the will. We must identify everyone that is in this country illegally and classify them according to how long they have been here and how they contribute to the greater good of the society. They will all be fined, but what we do next will depend on their contribution. Hard working otherwise law abiding will be required to not only pay a fine but also pay any back taxes and then they can apply for work visas and citizenship (but they must have work to stay). Those who are here and not working will be fined and removed from the welfare roles after thirty days and if they have not moved to category I by then they will be removed from the country. Finally, the criminals will be removed immediately and sent back to whatever country they came from and with sealed borders they will be unable to return. The American public is only so willing to except illegals, but it comes at a price.
- The two wars and the thousands of troops around the globe need to be addressed because the voter is pretty tired of being the world's policemen to only be spit upon. We need a solid exit strategy that supports freedom, but doesn't cost us ours. We have been trapped in Iraq and Afghanistan for eight years now and it is time to stop pretending we are making a difference. We also should make NATO and anyone also be responsible for their own defense because America can not continue to pay for countries that refuse to defend themselves. We are willing to help, but it must be a joint venture where the cost is shared equally.
I know that there is a lot to take in, but Gov. Palin this is the America that stands before you now. You provide actually solutions to the very real problems we face today. I know we like to hear that taxes will be lowered and we will receive great and wonderful gifts from our government, but we know that it is all a lie because there is no free lunch. We are selling our children and grand children into slavery to the national debt with each wasteful dollar spent by Washington. You need to restore the American Dream that comes from hard work and determination, which you are a wonderful example of. Please think about this in the coming months and start providing real solutions because if you do then there is no limit to where you can take this country.
Thank you for your support and God Bless America

I have grown tired of the 912 movement with all its hot air and very little action. I know that there have been Tea Parties and Capital protests, but they have yet to find one clear message other than they are upset. I am upset too, but I have offered more solutions to this mess than they have. I find it sad that we can't get enough Americans to say enough of the big government progressives and their deficit spending. Why can't the 70% of America that is fiscally conservative put a stop to the 30% that is spending us into oblivion with its progressive government ways?
The answer is too sad to state, we are too worried if everyone is the right kind of conservative to join our brand of conservatism. I am far too liberal socially to be accepted into the far right hall of fame, so I am an out cast. I am not a Republican party or die conservative, so no invite there. I am not a RINO pseudo conservative, so no Democrat-Lite which I refuse to join. I am just a plain old fiscal conservative with a live and let live social side. I want to reign in an out of control federal government, I want to ween the states off the federal tit, and I want to stop wasting money on foreign aid and military protection on countries that refuse to do for themselves.
You won't think it would be hard to get people to rally around putting and end to big government and big government spending, but it is proving to be impossible. I love this country and I sure and the hell don't want it to become a banana republic with out of control hyper-inflation. I don't hate poor people, but I do have a problem with lazy people that live off the government. It is amazing how many people find work once unemployment benefits start running out. Every time benefits are extended unemployment goes up, go figure.
I guess I am turning into a Libertarian and I if I were smart I would go ahead and vote that way. How could it be any worse than throwing my vote away on either Democrat or Democrat-Lite? I mean damn I would at least not feel like I needed a shower after leaving the voting booth. I don't care how you vote, but think about this this country was build on hard work and sacrifice, so who is working hard and sacrificing now? Is it our dutiful representatives? Is it the rich people we are trying to tax the crap out of? Or is it the poor people that continually look to the government to help them out? The people at the bottom of the economic food chain are suffering the worse from this big government, when it is specifically designed to help them. Funny how the government only makes things worse, not better when they try to help.

I am now afraid that we have a majority in this country that is happy to turn over control of our lives to the government. These people actually believe that Washington knows what is best for them. I see evidence of this daily and it is the only thing being spewed by the MSM and the intellectual elites. Some of know that there is a problem and maybe we can't point our finger on it, but unless we do something real soon it won't matter because we will all be sold into slavery of the government. We have already mortgaged our children and if we don't stop now we are going to spend our way into banana republic status.
I encourage everyone to read Glenn's book and then pass it on to someone you love or needs a wake up call. I really think that time is running out and if we don't wake more people up it is going to be too late. On a side note, I think I may be becoming a libertarian because I am sick of all government stupidity and though some of their ideas may seem crazy on the surface they have merit when you dig into them. I am still reading and digging, but they seem to understand that the best government is one that governs least.

Helping the poor is noble, but helping them to do what is the better question to ask here. Should we not help them to better their skills and find good employment, so that they become productive members of the society? How does finding them better government handouts make their lot truly better. If you want to help the poor then put an end to constant government edicts to the business sector and the incredibly high taxes imposed upon them. Without these they could then expand and hire more of these “poor” people to work and rise out of poverty. I am not saying throw them to the wolves of sweatshops, but rather a booming economy that lifts all boats.
I know it sounds really familiar doesn’t it. It is funny how the Democrats loved the booming economy when they were riding the wave in the mid 90’s, but as soon as the government started monkeying with a good thing then came the crash and burn part. Government does not create anything, it only takes from the taxpayer. If we starve the beast then more money is in the taxpayers pocket to do as they please, such as expand their business or give to charity as they see fit. When unemployment is low there is a corresponding low level of government activity, the opposite is true as well, increased government activity results in an increase in unemployment. Tell me that the current economic situation has not been worsened by the constant state of government change. Every time the government threatens or taxes, employers shelter down and even more jobs are cut. But don’t worry the government will save you by extending your unemployment benefits, which results in further drain on the economy because that money comes in via higher and higher taxes.
As for the Republican party being for anything these days is a complete and utter joke. They have two major factions, neither of which reflect the feeling in America today. You have the RINOs that believe in big government giveaways (Democrat-Lite) and the far right of social conservatism. The country is fiscal conservative first and social issues second, if at all. Reagan got it and he opened his arms to all fiscal conservatives and sidelined the social stuff to personal belief. He believed in starving the government beast to stop the drain on the economy and the results were seen for about 20 years of incredible job growth and low unemployment. Greed and government interference ended all that. The left seized the day by saying that greed and lack of government where to blame. This was partially true, but we were sold a whole lot of bad government to make up for bad government.
It would have only taken a few minor tweaks to stop the madness, but instead we let the government step in and waste trillions of our hard earned tax dollars. There were many other solutions to the “crisis”, but no one was willing to take the time to let the market sort it out. The MSM constantly beating the drum for even more government control/takeovers and sending their Champion on his way to the White House if they could only drive the economy into the crapper.
So here we sit. The markets are recovering because Congress hasn’t been able to do anything. The American people rose up and let their fiscal conservative roots show. This has caused Congressional gridlock, which is a great thing. As Congress has stalled on its takeover of every aspect of American life the markets have been trying to make a comeback and doing pretty good job of it. This will of course all evaporate with the next round of government mandates and resulting higher taxes. If you make it impossible for companies of any size to do business in America they will do business elsewhere and take their jobs with them.
We have a choice to make on Tuesday and it will be one that will shape our future, we can back big government and big government spending or we can send a message by supporting Rubio and Hoffman. We can say yes to fiscal conservatism. Lets stop being the people of NO and be the people that believe in yes WE THE PEOPLE can. Lets join together and support what makes America great and leave big government behind.

I was more than a little outraged that the Federal Government was so willingly to display its corruption and law breaking for all the world to see. The funny thing is that no one blinks and eye at this activity as it has grown to be expected that the government will strong arm the states using our tax dollars to do it.
Here is the latest version of the scam. The feds think the states education standards are too low and something should be done about it.
The Obama administration said the report bolsters its effort to persuade all states to adopt the same set of tougher standards for what students should know.
"States are setting the bar too low," Education Secretary Arne Duncan said. "We're lying to our children when we tell them they're proficient, but they're not achieving at a level that will prepare them for success once they graduate."
The federal government can't impose a set of standards, because education is largely up to states.
But Duncan noted he is offering millions of dollars in grants to encourage states to accept a set of standards being developed by the National Governors Association and Council of Chief State School Officers. The grants come from the federal stimulus law, which set aside $5 billion to push Obama's vision of educational reform.
By LIBBY QUAID, AP Education Writer Libby Quaid, Ap Education Writer – Thu Oct 29, 3:16 pm ET
The fact that the federal government isn't legally allowed to impose a set of standards is irrelevant because they will force the states to do so using federal stimulus LAW (our tax dollars) to do just that, impose federal standards on the states in a states rights issue. This is illegal and immoral. If a state wants dumb kids so be it, why do I have to pay for some kid in a state where they have low standards. I would think this would be up to the the parents and the local school board not the federal government. The fact that the feds are so willing to openly bribe the states with our money is reprehensible. We as a nation need to put Washington back in its Constitutional box. If we did this we would shrink government and lower all our taxes because the feds wouldn't be acting as middle man and taking a cut to money they are not legally entitled too.
If you also think this is out of the box and We the People need to do something about it, lets hear it and better yet let you representatives get a full measure of your wrath.

The best I can say about this race is buyer beware because Corzine says he will raise taxes as a last resort and clearly states he has a progressive agenda on his website. Christie says is looking to cut taxes, control spending and create jobs, which seems like someone I would like to vote for but all politicians tell us what we want to here. Daggett appears to want to cut property taxes by raising all other taxes with no coinciding spending cuts.
You are going to have to make a choice NJ and that one seems pretty clear, taxes and more taxes or cut spending. The only one talking about cutting government spending is Christie, so my nod goes to him.
McDonnell espouses reduced spending and the resultant tax reductions. McDonnell is a very strong social conservative, which doesn't necessarily sit well with a lot of voters. Deeds aligns himself with the state law required spending limits and past successful governors. In most areas Deeds would probably be a Republican, but in VA he is a Democrat. This one is going to come down to personalities and since Obama is throwing Deeds under the bus early and often McDonnell looks to take this one. The nod goes to McDonnell.
No choice here, either you get a spendthrift in independent clothing or one in Democrat clothing. The hanging of the head nod goes to Bloomberg.
Owen is a middle of the road Democrat that doesn't break from the party pack. Scozzafava at best is a liberal and most likely has some skeletons in the tax closet. Hoffman is the only conservative in the race and is receiving lots of big name endorsements. This is going to be a very interesting one to watch as the Democrat is currently at 33%, the Republican at 29% and the Conservative is at 23%. With the sudden in flush of money to fund Hoffman and the ringing endorsements this one is too close to call. 10% separates the leader from the third party candidate and it will be a referendum on whether you vote party or principles. If party is the issue then vote is split with no clear winner, but the edge would go to Owen. If you vote principle then the edge would go to Hoffman in a come from behind victory with Scozafava stepping aside for the good of the country now that all her family's tax bills have been covered. I am going out on a limb in hopeful thinking and giving the nod to Hoffman.
I am only one voice and my opinion is just as valid as anyone's, so lets here what you think and why you feel things are going turn out. I have very little basis for my analysis other than the Internet (each candidates website) and TV ads for the VA race. If you have better insight or sources let me in on them.

There is another much more suitable candidate running that the repubs ignored to what appears to be their peril. Doug Hoffman is a conservative and would have been a good choice in these economic times. Instead they go find a liberal and get her to make a whole list of promises to act conservative. Are they insane? Once elected, everyone knows there is no holding her accountable for her votes and she will own nothing to the dumb people that elected her.
The repubs has lost the Reagan picture of small government and the lower taxes that result from smaller government. If you starve the beast the cost of supporting the beast is much lower. Fiscal conservatism is the polar opposite of progressivism's big government theory. Now is the time to put a stake in the heart of this blood sucker once and for all. We now have an electorate tired of big government, big government spending and the high taxes to pay for it. We need to support candidates that are willing to get in there and kill the beast.
This could be the last hurrah for big government and a new dawning for America, if we only seize this opportunity. Put people into office that believe this way. Have them repeal the amendments and laws that created this beast. We can be compassionate without giving away the farm. We can stop helping those who refuse to help themselves. We can stop sending troops to Europe and the Middle East to provide for their protection while we mortgage our grand children's futures with massive national debt.
If a candidate running for office regardless of party does not want to put and end to big government then they need to be defeated. We need to support the ones that do. It is obvious that the repubs only want to be restored to power, so they will have the keys to the treasury. They don't care about you or me. They only want to be back on top and in charge of the great tax dollar giveaway. We need to put an end to this looting and start returning order. The glory days of Reagan were not that the repubs were in charge, but that the fiscal conservatives were in charge. Sure he wasn't perfect and spent a lot of money on defense, but that ended the Cold War which saved us billions, which were immediately squandered over the next decade and a half.
You want better then now is the time to drive the stake home into the progressive government beast. They don't know what is best for you and your family. They have no clue how to run a business or how to make a living. They only know that unless we stop them they will continue to grow fat and rich on our hard earned money. They will sell our children into slavery with ever growing National Debt. When this house of cards finally collapses then I will sadly hang my head and say "I told you so".

These yahoos can't get the votes they need to shove their agenda down our throats via the normal matter, willing to go against the will of the people and sneak it in via a parliamentary trick. Where is the rising up of the average citizens? Why are we so willing to let them enslave us and our children to their progressive trickery? Why are we so willing to accept socialist ideas that we fought against during the Cold War and two hot wars? This is insane! We have a two bit dictator in the White House telling the people what is and is not acceptable news. We were more outraged when the two bit dictator in Columbia did it then we are when our very own President is doing it. We smile and think it is okay or worse yet funny. This same dictator wants us to all become wards of the state, via government run health care, where the government decides what is and is not acceptable care. Does this sound right to you?
I know I haven't written much lately. I've been too busy working my a$$ off to make sure that I am not a casualty of this economic recovery. Maybe that is what the rest of the hard working tax paying Americans are doing and don't have the time or energy to take to the streets in protest. I am asking you, what is it going to take to break the chains that the current government is forging for us and our children? They feel we are too feeble minded to make our own decisions and their government knows what is best for us. What a load of crap! They have no idea what I need or what is best for me and my family.
If I want to eat red meat or drink alcohol then it is my choice because this is America. If they are so worried about my health, then they should get out of my way and stop taxing me to death. If I didn't have to work until July to pay my taxes, I might just take some time off to relax and enjoy the fruits of my labors. But instead I work and work some more, so they can tell me that I am too fat from eating junk food, drinking soda, don't get enough exercise and don't eat enough veggies. If I didn't have to work 13 hours a day maybe I would exercise more and have time to fix delicious and nutritious meals. But instead, I grab what I can when I can. If I do by fresh veggies they rot in my fridge because I never have time to cook them.
So I say to the progressive socialist elitist government screw you and your little dog too!

Obama running off to Denmark to shill for Chicago was a true shame. The fact that the outcome was not even close to being in the bag, based on the fact the US has hosted the games recently and no country in South America had never done so, makes the US look foolish. Then you have the jackass Burrus coming out and saying that it was all President Bush's fault. Please! America is the most powerful country on the planet, period. We don't need to rub peoples noses in it, but we also don't have anything to apologize for either. Teddy Roosevelt had it right about talking softly and carrying a big stick. We have the biggest stick and talking softly is not apologizing to those who make it a habit to hate us.
If this whole trip is any indication of how much Obama's self hating American routine is going over with our enemies and how much respect the rest of the world has for America. Since Obama took office, North Korea has thumbed its nose at us and we have apologized for the hard line we used to take with them. Iran is even worse because they have basically announced to the world that they are pursuing nuclear weapons and have dared anyone to do something about it. President Obama and his advisers have basically used a sad look and a minor head shake in the face of these situations. They have not issued any real warnings or rallied the international community to take action. Is Obama waiting on France, Germany, Russia, China, or Britain to make the stand? Since when do we need their help to rattle our saber?
North Korea needs to be frozen out of the international community. If China won't do it, then we ensure that nothing goes in, especially US grain. I know, those poor North Koreans will starve without our grain. What is better starving N. Koreans or incinerated innocents all over the globe? The same goes for Iran, we need to put an end to the BS. Let it be known that we won't stop Israel and if anything happens to our troops in Iraq, we will hold Iran accountable. I know, those poor Iranians. We have done nothing to support their peaceful protests and wishes for freedom. Obama turned his back on them and sided with the oppressive rulers. Maybe if we punched the oppressive government in the mouth the people will throw them to the curb.
We need to lay down the law and be unapologetic about it. We need to let North Korea and Iran the consequences for their actions. We need to be straight forward and not waffle about it. We need to let the bad actors of this world know what happens when they seek to destroy the US. They better pack a lunch because it is going to be a long day. The only problem with this is that we must be ready to back our threats with actions. We also need to stop playing nation builder and wasting precious troops in countries that refuse to fix themselves. I know, if we don't stick around then bad actors will pop right back up again.
I have an answer for that as well, we smack them down a enough times with death from the skies, they will either get the hint or die in their stupidity. We need to remove their capability and will to wage war or support terrorists. I know, it will cause more terrorist to be grown, but the funny thing is that regardless of what we do the terrorist (radical Muslims) keep coming. If America only gave aid to those countries that support us instead of every country regardless, then you would find a lot friendly world. We look like asses giving money to countries who outwardly run us down in the world community. We need to stop handing out money to supporters of terrorist and put an end to feeding them.
I am a hater and I should be ashamed of myself, but know this I don't give a crap about one single radical Muslims or what they think. They do not get to dictate how I think or feel. They have zero to offer the world other than hate and death. America and Americans have a record of helping and giving around the world that is unmatched, so those radical Muslims can kiss my ass.
If you try to kill any of our civilians then we will make sure that you don't try again for a long time. We should not spend a minute more in any country than it takes to get everyone home safe after fully kicking their butts. To that end we need to be out of Iraq and Afghanistan as soon as possible. If they support terrorism again, then we whack the crap out of them again and again until the message sinks in. No more nation building. If you attack us or you supported those who attack us, you get to see what the dark ages were like.
If you don't agree that is okay and I would like to hear other ideas on how we behave as a nation. I would also like to hear how we regain face in the eyes of the world after all the bowing and scrapping our President has been doing around the world. I would also like to know how we are going to be a world leader when we are so far in debt to our enemies. Lets hear it.

First you had the Republicans supporting other rich people by making it easier for them to fleece the flock by ignoring the what was happening on Wall Street and then using our tax dollars to bailout their buddies to the tune of a couple of trillion dollars. The Republicans spent money like it was water to make more money for themselves and the Big Business special interest groups that poured money into their campaign funds. These guys were supposed to be the ones that advocated for smaller leaner government and fiscal responsibility, but they wasted billions of our tax dollars making their friends rich.
Are the Democrats any better? No, they immediately opened the federal treasury to paid back all their special interest groups for getting them elected. They have been full steam ahead on socializing America under the guise they know what is best for us. They say jobs be damned we need cap and trade. They say the government can run health care better than the private sector. They refuse to look at what is causing the rising health care costs or how isn't covered because that isn't important to the end goal of an elitist totalitarian state. I know I have far out ideas and I am not afraid to let them out in hopes of sparking discussion, but this is one that can't be ignored.
Obama changed his intended speech to the school kids because the first rev was way too scary and the union minions lesson plan reeked of indoctrination. If the speech was so harmless then why wasn't it published weeks in advance? Was it any mystery to the President school was starting? This government has already taken over the financial sector in the name of helping the little guy, but how much help as the average person really seen? It seems that the criminals are rewarding their buddies for being greedy (Republican). The Democrats and the their buddies the unions have successfully taken over car manufacturing in the US, but has that created anymore jobs or has it only saved those mystical magical jobs that no one can measure. Funny thing is that unemployment continues to rise and in just over a year has gone from about 5% to just over 10%. That is really helping the little guy if you ask me.
People are beginning to get the idea that their representatives no longer represent them, but rather whomever fills their re-election coffers. This has lead to TEA parties and angry town hall meetings. There are some politicians that refuse to meet with those they represent because they don't want to lower themselves to that level. This is elitist attitude needs to be crushed. We need to look to people outside the normal political channels to fill the halls of Congress. We have an opportunity in 2010 to restore the American Dream to America by not returning the same old criminals to Washington. We can seek out hometown heroes that we know, love and can trust to represent us to send to Washington.
I have been asked where are these Independent candidates that I talk about, independence is a frame of mind not a party affiliation. I could careless if someone used to be Republican, Democrat or Tree Monkey party, but rather that the person be honest and believe in a government of the people, by the people and for the people vice one of elitist totalitarianism. I know Pelosi has zero clue what is right for me and my family, I don't need the government dictating where I can work, what doctor I can see when, or if I am allowed to eat red meat. I want someone that understands this and will go to Washington with the purpose of putting Washington back in its Constitutional box.
I believe in strong defense, secure boarders, fiscal restraint, eliminating the national debt, balanced budget and a fair wage for an honest days work. If you are able to work then you should do so. This country was founded on the principle if you were able bodied and didn't work you didn't eat. This sounds harsh, but it is a concept that needs to be revisited. Why should I work to feed you when you are capable of working and feeding yourself? America used to be the land of opportunity and you could make something of yourself with hard work and determination. Why don't we restore that Dream vice the one where the government will take care of everything for us.
Restore the True American Dream of Self Determination and Hard Work!!!!

I am fuming over two issues right now, the Obama Hitler youth address and the health care fiasco. I am so very happy that the Democrats are ducking the town hall meetings because it will make it easier to identify the ones that need to go. All this talk about options are just smokescreens and delaying tactics to wait the voters out before they sneak in the government takeover. The Obama address is really not the issue it is the assignments that surround the rally speech that have me so PO'd. I think it is wrong for unionized teachers to force children to pledge how they are going to help the President and that the President is wise to the point that he is wiser than their parents. This is my problem with this whole propaganda machine interaction with the union arm of the new order.
Are we to wait around for the recruiters to the new national service army? The kids will be led right into service with an undying devotion to the President. This scares the living crap out of me and it should you as well. Obama wants his own national armed police force filled with young people doing service to their country. Does this sound familiar? I am sure bad things could never happen here, right? Think what you want, but I don't like it and I hope to hell I am wrong.

If the CIA scared people into confessing secrets then good on them. If they actually killed or raped the terrorists families then you would have a case to investigate. But to put them through a public wringer for simulations and threats is utter BS and we the people need to let it be known that you don't pull the mask of the lone ranger or tug on superman's cape. We've handcuffed the CIA in the past and it resulted in 9/11, so lets not be so stupid as to repeat our mistakes.
Do I think that there should be limits to the things that can be done to terrorist? Yes, but they would be more along the lines of actual physical torture that involves real pain and not stage acting. If we beat the living crap out of someone or need a medical team standing by just to ensure they don't die then maybe that is taking things to far, but to put on a really good dramatization or make threats is just good acting. If we were running around and actually putting caps in these guys families then that would be wrong, but I harken back to "24" when they did a wonderful job of simulating executing a terrorist kid that broke him. You add lots of Hollywood makeup and whamo you have a fountain of information. Is this torture? I don't know, but is it effective, maybe.
I guess I have a different opinion on this subject knowing how little these terrorist value their own lives, but value their families. If you know that then you use it against them to our advantage. If it is torture then is it mental and I have no problem messing with their heads, so if that makes me a monster so be it. They do not have a problem killing us, so I don't see the problem messing with their minds. I don't think we should be beating the crap out of them, but we should be able to mess with their screwed up minds a little. I would expect the same, if I were captured and questioned. In case you didn't know it war is hell and people die. We all do and say things we regret, but it is all part of the human experience good or bad.
I want to hear your take on the matter.

If Americans don't put an end to this give it away government then there will be no end to the inflation that is going to be visited on us and hyper-inflation of Germany will be but a starting point. Do you really think this country is going to be able to avoid skyrocketing interest rates that we saw in the late 70's. You think the recession is slowing and that things are bottoming out, but it is only the beginning of the end. Once China realizes we have no way of actually paying off our national debt they are going to put and end to this easy money free spending ways. They are going to make it extremely painful for the US to sell debt and the interest rate is going to shoot through the roof.
The Chinese will have to do very little at that point except sit back and enjoy the rewards of the free market. They will own the US and there isn't a damn thing we will be able to do about it at that point. If they turn their backs on us then we become the next Germany with an axe to grind all over the world, but more likely is they will start dictating terms to stabilize our economy. They will roll back our military spending until we have very little ability to project power. They will ensure that our goods are not sold anywhere in the world, which isn't that hard. They will inflate the prices of their goods to the point where we still buy them, but they basically rob us blind. Once we've dug our hole they will never let us out.
The good news is that we have a chance to stop this madness before it is too late, but only if we act now to put in end to the stupidity pouring out of Washington. Grab whomever will listen that represents you and let them know that this out of control spending has to end now! We need to stop with any new programs and freeze the ones we have until we pay off our debt. We need to a balanced budget amendment to prevent this from ever happening again. You want a better tomorrow then start today by paying off your debt. The same applies to the federal government.
Lets put off spending any additional money until we stop the bleeding and stabilize the patient. Your representatives need to hear this time and time again. Not everyone of them can duck town hall meetings and if they do then they need a new job. If your representative didn't bother to bring his case to the people then you should open up his future employment opportunities. We need to stay focused and not lose sight of the end goal, which is restoring fiscal responsibility to Washington and then maintaining it.
